PennLUG Club Meeting – December 3rd

The next PennLUG Club meeting will be held by Josh on December 3rd @11 AM. Details have been sent out via forum mail. If you need the details just ask on the forums or Facebook.

Dirty Brickster, Holiday Gift Giving Game

As usual at our December Holiday meeting we’ll have our annual “Dirty Brickster” the gift stealing/swapping game. To play you bring a wrapped Lego gift valued at $20 or more, the more unusual (MOCs, or Vintage sets are great for this) the fun the game becomes. We’ve had some pretty cool stuff in the past from Duplo sharks, to Fabuland figure sets, to Farmall tractor models.

Build Challenge

Building challenge is to build something inspired by the artist Keith Haring’s Radiant Baby painting.

Red Lion Train Station Open House

I’m pleased to announce that for a third year my LEGO model of the Red Lion, Pennsylvania train station will be on display this December at the very station it is modeled after. http://www.redlionareahistoricalsociety.org The former Maryland & Pennsylvania RR station is now owned and preserved by the Red Lion Historical Society and will be open on select days throughout December.

Sundays 11/27, 12/4, 12/11, 12/18, from 1:00-5:00PM
Thursday 12/29, Friday 12/30 from 7:00-9:00PM
Saturday 12/31 (New Years Eve), from 7:00-11:30PM.

Many of you know my model of Red Lion depicting it in the 1940’s has been a labor of love of mine and a very lengthy project. This will mark the first time the station is displayed with everything finally complete, including interior. What better place to display it than at it it’s real life counterpart.

If any one would like to drop by on any of the days the station is open you are more than welcome to hang out with me a while. I will be there most days except for the 13th. The station also hosts the Red Lion Train Station Model Railroaders and their O gauge train layout. Admission to the station is FREE, but donations to the Historical Society are greatly appreciated.

The Red Lion Train Station Model Railroaders will be raffling off (4) complete ready-to-run train sets including a Thomas & Friends and a Polar Express set. Winners will be drawn New Year’s Eve at 11:00 PM. You need not be present to win. Tickets are $1.00 each or (6) for $5.00. If any one wants tickets and can’t make it to one of the open days, see me at the meeting and I can get some for you.

Thank you America on Wheels

Thank you for another great holiday season with our town and train display at America on Wheels. We hope you had the ability to come out and see it and interact with the display.

The Museum remains open, however the PennLUG Christmas/Holiday Display is no longer up. Please do visit they have excellent exhibits and is fun for all ages.

PennLUG Meeting December 5th!

The December Holiday PennLUG will be hosted by KC, and held at the NEW Snailtopia location, Sat December 5th, from 11 am till as late as you want to stay and socialize or play tabletop games. NO children under 18, NO dogs please, but other family members are welcome to attend. We have tons of fun stuff to do here other than Lego.

Address has been sent out in the meeting email. If you have not received it let us know and we’ll get it to you.

The build challenge is anything to do with celebrating Snailmas, the month long, non-denominational Winter Holiday where all snails and humans have a great time. It resembles Christmas a lot, with all the good food and crazy decorations, and fun gifts, but with no bickering about red coffee cups, or what Winter Holiday greeting is used.

We will also be playing “Dirty Brickster” the gift stealing/swapping game. To play you bring a wrapped Lego gift valued at $20 or more. Please try to bring something unusual, it makes it more fun. I recommend that you bring a Duplo shark, and see what happens.

I will be providing some food and drink, feel free to bring something to share, but you don’t have to.

Allergy alert, even though all the cats here live outside, the previous owner had inside cats.

I will TRY to have my winter monorail up and running, and an oval of 9V track, so bring your trains and monorails !

Anyone in PennLUG who places an order in my BL store, Kreativ Store,http://www.bricklink.com/store.asp?p=kreativsnail before this Thursday at noon, will receive 10 % off all parts, and 5 % off all sets, minifigs, or gear, if order is paid for with cash at the Dec meeting.
