Upcoming Displays

While we always have shows in the works, we currently have three shows nailed down for later this year and early next year.

Our annual America on Wheels Holiday Train Display will be back starting November 24th. This dislay is hosted by the America on Wheels museum in Allentown, PA. We have photos of our display there last year on Flickr.

We’re also returning to the Greenberg Train & Toy Show for their upcoming shows in Lebanon, PA (December 9-10, 2017, 10am-4pm) and York, PA (February 10-11, 2018).

We’ll have large town/train displays at all three of these shows. We hope to see you there!

August 12th meeting

Our August meeting is being hosted by Sam and Vicki Tauser this Saturday, the 12th. The address has been sent out in the meeting email. If anyone has not received it, please let me know and I'll get it to you. Here is a few meeting notes from Sam and Vicki.

For the 8/12 meeting at our house Sam and I will have lunch meats, chesse and rolls along with a salad for lunch/dinner. I will be making desert. If the weather permits, we'll have the meeting outside on the deck. We have a canopy and may need another one. I'll have small tables and chairs. After the meeting we will also be playing some kind of Nerf games. If they club members have any Nerf toys, have them bring them. Unfortunately, we didn't plan for a build challenge. Sorry. But if anyone one wants to build something to celebrate summer or summer games they can. We'll admire them by ooohing and awwing.

See you next Saturday.

Red Lion Station Display

I’m pleased to announce that for a third year my LEGO model of the Red Lion, Pennsylvania train station will be on display this December at the very station it is modeled after. http://www.redlionareahistoricalsociety.org The former Maryland & Pennsylvania RR station is now owned and preserved by the Red Lion Historical Society and will be open on select days throughout December.

Sundays 11/27, 12/4, 12/11, 12/18, from 1:00-5:00PM
Thursday 12/29, Friday 12/30 from 7:00-9:00PM
Saturday 12/31 (New Years Eve), from 7:00-11:30PM.

Many of you know my model of Red Lion depicting it in the 1940’s has been a labor of love of mine and a very lengthy project. This will mark the first time the station is displayed with everything finally complete, including interior. What better place to display it than at it it’s real life counterpart.

If any one would like to drop by on any of the days the station is open you are more than welcome to hang out with me a while. I will be there most days except for the 13th. The station also hosts the Red Lion Train Station Model Railroaders and their O gauge train layout. Admission to the station is FREE, but donations to the Historical Society are greatly appreciated.

The Red Lion Train Station Model Railroaders will be raffling off (4) complete ready-to-run train sets including a Thomas & Friends and a Polar Express set. Winners will be drawn New Year’s Eve at 11:00 PM. You need not be present to win. Tickets are $1.00 each or (6) for $5.00. If any one wants tickets and can’t make it to one of the open days, see me at the meeting and I can get some for you.

Dirty Brickster, Holiday Gift Giving Game

As usual at our December Holiday meeting we’ll have our annual “Dirty Brickster” the gift stealing/swapping game. To play you bring a wrapped Lego gift valued at $20 or more, the more unusual (MOCs, or Vintage sets are great for this) the fun the game becomes. We’ve had some pretty cool stuff in the past from Duplo sharks, to Fabuland figure sets, to Farmall tractor models.

Build Challenge

Building challenge is to build something inspired by the artist Keith Haring’s Radiant Baby painting.
